Scope of this policy
This policy applies to consulting and advisory services supplied by London Business Consultancy. The website does not sell physical goods, so product returns, exchanges, packaging and return-shipping provisions do not apply.
A signed proposal, statement of work or engagement letter may contain terms specific to an engagement. Those agreed terms take priority where they differ from this general policy, but nothing in either document limits a right that cannot lawfully be limited.
Cancelling consulting services
Please send a cancellation request in writing as soon as possible. If work has not started, we will refund prepaid fees for work that will not be supplied, less any reasonable, clearly identified costs or losses already committed because of the engagement.
If work has started, fees remain payable for services already performed and for reasonable, non-recoverable third-party costs or approved expenses already incurred. Any prepaid balance for work that will not be performed will be refunded. We do not apply an excessive cancellation charge or retain payment for work that has not been supplied without a lawful and contractually valid reason.
If we cancel an engagement when the client is not at fault, we will refund prepaid fees for services that will not be supplied.
Rescheduling meetings and workshops
Unless the engagement documents state otherwise, a scheduled meeting or workshop may normally be moved once without an administration fee when we receive at least two business days’ written notice. The new date is subject to availability. A later change may require payment of reasonable, non-recoverable venue, travel or specialist costs already committed for that session.
Consumer cancellation rights
Most clients engage us for business purposes. If you are legally acting as a consumer and enter a distance or off-premises service contract, you will normally have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days after the contract is entered into, without giving a reason.
If you expressly ask us to begin work during that cancellation period and later cancel, you may need to pay a proportionate amount for services supplied up to cancellation. If the service is fully performed during that period following your express request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right may end once performance is complete. We will provide any contract-specific cancellation information required by law before the engagement begins.
Concerns about a service
Please tell us promptly if you believe a service has not been delivered as agreed or with reasonable care and skill. We will review the scope, work supplied and supporting records. Where appropriate, we may correct or repeat affected work, agree a proportionate price reduction, or issue a partial or full refund in line with the engagement terms and applicable law.
Amounts that are not normally refundable
- Fees for services already completed and supplied as agreed.
- A proportionate fee for work performed before a valid cancellation.
- Reasonable third-party costs or approved expenses that cannot be recovered.
- Custom research, analysis or materials already delivered, subject to the engagement terms and statutory rights.
This list does not remove any remedy available for breach of contract, misrepresentation, services not supplied with reasonable care and skill, or another right that applies by law.
How to request a cancellation or refund
Email [email protected] with the client name, company name, relevant proposal or invoice reference, the service concerned, the requested cancellation date and a short explanation. Do not email passwords or full payment-card details.
Refund processing
We aim to assess a complete request and initiate an approved refund within three business days after the amount is agreed, and always within any shorter or mandatory statutory deadline that applies. Refunds are made to the original payment method where reasonably possible and without an administration fee. A bank or payment provider may take additional time to show the credit after it has been issued.
