UK market entry research: evidence for the decision
A practical UK market-entry research framework covering market structure, customer evidence, competitors, economics and remaining uncertainty.

Start with the decision
Market research should be designed around a decision: whether to enter, which segment to prioritise, how to position the offer or which route to test first. A general market report rarely answers all four.
Combine three evidence layers
A useful assessment brings together market structure, buyer reality and your own ability to compete.
- Market evidence: size ranges, growth, demand drivers, regulation and economics
- Customer evidence: priorities, buying process, alternatives, trust and proof requirements
- Company evidence: proposition fit, cost to serve, local capability and investment capacity
State what remains uncertain
Strong research makes assumptions and gaps visible. It distinguishes sourced facts, estimates, interview evidence and inference.
That transparency lets leaders design the next market test around the uncertainties most likely to change the investment decision.
